Content of the STAR Training DVD: Level 1
The STAR Program Training DVD: Level 1 shows examples of how to teach students with autism using discrete trial training, pivotal response training and teaching funtional routines. The content of the lessons are in the areas of expressive language, receptive language, spontaneous language, functional routines, pre-academic skills, play/social interaction skills. Learn the purpose and how to implement many of the Level 1 STAR Program Lessons from the authors of the STAR Program.
The Level 1 STAR Program Training DVD will be helpful if your student has difficulty following simple commands, has no or very little language, has behavior issues when asked to do a simple task, and may not interact with other children.
The STAR Program Training DVD: Level 1 will provide information on how to teach students to:
- Understand basic language concepts.
- Start to use verbal language to request desires.
- Follow simple routines such as arrival to an activity area, departure from an activity area, circle time, or snack time.
- Begin to participate in independent constructive play.
